About this site

Birmingham Connect to Support is an online information and advice guide, community directory and marketplace for citizens of Birmingham.

This website is intended for all residents who want to find out about local groups, activities and services within the community.

Information and Advice

There is a wealth of practical information on this website about staying independentmoney matterskeeping active, healthy and well and much more. There are also lots of links to other useful websites and organisations.

You can also use the interactive 'Our Community' page to search for the right help and information.

We do our best to keep the information on this website up to date and welcome any comments from you about information which is out of date or which you think would be useful - just click on the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page to let us know your thoughts.

Community directory of local groups, activities and services

There are hundreds of free or low cost local groups and activities in our Community directory that can help you - from lunch clubs, arts & crafts groups and exercise groups to voluntary organisations that will assist you with transport and housework. These types of groups could help you to remain independent and a part of the community.

To search the Community directory, select 'Local groups and activities', you can then search using your post code or the filters provided.

Products and services marketplace

You can use our marketplace to 'Search for products and services'. You can search by category, such as Personal and Domestic Care, Mobility and Transport, or by keyword search to find the products you need.

By selecting 'Browse the Stores' you will find a wide range of online stores - you can click through to each store and see what products or services they offer.

To find local groups and activities in your community, enter your postcode into the postcode box - this will narrow the search results down to the groups and activities closest to you.

You can use the filters provided to further narrow down the search results to show the results most relevant to you.

If you know of a community group or activity in Birmingham that is not in our Community directory but you feel should be, please let us know using the 'Feedback' button at the bottom of the page.

If you run a community group or activity and would like to be featured on Birmingham Connect to Support, please let us know by completing the Local Group/Activity onboarding form.

Click on 'Search for products and services'. You can search by category, such as Personal and Domestic Care, Mobility and Transport, or by keyword search to find the products you need.

You can use the 'My Favourites' buttons on any page of the website, including the search results pages, to gather pages together to print out as a booklet or to save to go back to later.

When you are on the page you wish to add, click on the 'My Favourites' button and then click 'Add to favourites'. 

When you have added all the pages you want, select 'Print booklet'. You will be taken to a new page where you can fill in details, if you'd like, for a cover page. Then click the 'Print' button and wait a few seconds. Your booklet will appear as a pdf which you can then save to your computer or print off.
