Prevention and Communities Grants Programme.
Community based activities and services supporting Birmingham’s Citizens to lead healthy, happy, and independent lives.
The Prevention and Communities Grants Programme supports Birmingham City Council's vision for Adult Social Care. Since 2019 this investment in the community and voluntary sector organisations has provided preventative support for citizens over 18 years with a disability, or additional needs, as well as older people and people caring for family or friends. All activities in the programme are easy to access and usually free, some require a small contribution.
All the activities contribute to one or more of the following outcomes:
- Increased social participation - reducing social isolation and loneliness
- Healthier Lifestyles – being more active physically and mentally
- Maximising income – through benefits and debt advice
- Staying independent at home - help with minor repairs or garden clearances
- Carers feeling more supported - in caring for family or friends and in their own right
Following a successful recommissioning in late 2023, the current programme runs until September 2026, for a details of the Provider organisations as well as the activities and services they offer, please see the P&C Grant Programme here
