The Domestic Abuse (DA) Early Intervention and Prevention Hub

The Hub is a comprehensive advice, information and guidance service, delivered by Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid (BSWAID), who are commissioned by Birmingham City Council. The hub provides access to a range of support across the city for all survivors of domestic abuse, and can also advise friends, family members and professionals. The in-person drop-in service offers a safe space, with a specialist multi-disciplinary team, delivering support by women, for women and children subject to domestic abuse, and other VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) issues such as Sexual Abuse, Forced Marriage and FGM (Female Genital Mutilation).

The DA Hub can provide advice on and access to:

  • Specialist risk assessment
  • Safety planning
  • Refuge and housing related support
  • Financial support
  • Access to assessments and referrals into Adult Social Care commission support
  • and a whole range of other support needs.

Support from the DA Hub is trauma-informed and survivor-centred, seeking to prevent escalation of risk and support long-term recovery.

Women-only drop-in sessions are also available at the Theresa Stewart Women’s Centre, Bank House, 36 Bristol Street, Birmingham B5 7AA for the following times:-

  • Monday and Tuesday 10am to 4pm
  • Wednesday 1pm to 4pm
  • Thursday and Friday 10am to 4pm.

The Lead Worker Service for survivors of domestic abuse offers individualised community-based support for citizens 18 years of age and over who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Citizens receive tailored support from a consistent support worker, working to empower them to:

  • Overcome personal barriers
  • Navigate services
  • Achieve goals around independent living and stability

A core element of support includes coordinating safety and support planning, in addition to accessing health and wellbeing services. The duration of support to individuals is typically over a period of 12 months, with flexibility of up to 2 years.

Trident Reach can also be contacted directly on 0800 111 4223 - 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

The service is suitable for survivors aged 18yrs & over who are not in refuge or dispersed safe accommodation. Trident Reach offer services for both women and men, while Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid work with Birmingham LGBT to provide support for men.
