Cost of Support
Cost of support
Social care services are not free. We will complete a financial assessment to work out the amount, if any, that you will need to contribute towards the cost of your agreed support services and long-term care.
If long-term services are needed, we will tell you the cost and when you will need to start paying.
A financial assessment will look at your income, and the value of any capital and savings. This information is needed to prevent you, where applicable, being charged the full cost of your care from the date the long-term service starts.
If you choose not to have a financial assessment you must pay the full cost of your long-term care.
You can find out more information about financial assessments and charges on Birmingham City Council’s paying for adult care and support web pages.
If you would like an estimate of how much your contribution is likely to be, use our care estimator calculator. This is anonymous and only gives an indication.
You can find details of other financial support that may be available to you in, as well as information about paying for care in the Money and Legal section of Connect to Support.
