Weight management support for adults
Birmingham Council’s Public Health team have commissioned weight management support to help adults in Birmingham keep to a healthy weight and have better health.
It will help adults to make small changes to lose weight sustainably by providing them with the knowledge and skills to achieve a healthier lifestyle, and live a healthier longer life.
There are 2 offers of support available
Digital adult weight management programme
This is a comprehensive 12 week adult weight management programme delivered via a mobile app. It is designed to empower people with knowledge, skills, support and personalised guidance from trained accountability partners, to achieve sustained weight loss, healthier lifestyles and enhanced wellbeing.
Who is it for?
It is aimed at anyone aged 16 years and over, with a body mass index – BMI – of 25kg/m2 and who is lives in Birmingham or sees a Birmingham GP.

The programme is run by Public Health’s contracted partner Healum.

Beezee Bodies - Weight management support for adults with a disability
These are weight management support with a difference, helping people with a range of disabilities that can make it harder to stay a healthy. These are in person courses that provide 1 to 1 nutrition support from a dietician, realistic weight goals based on your medication and health conditions, with friendly support network of people like you. A short video about the programme has also been created.
Who is it for?
It is aimed at anyone aged 18 years and over, living with a physical, visual impairment, learning disability or autism. Participants, must have the ability to consent to take part and have a body mass index – BMI – of 25kg/m2. Finally participants need to live in Birmingham or see a Birmingham GP.

The Beezee Bodies programme is run by Public Health’s contracted partner Maximus.
