At Harmony Daycare we are providing day care services for all older people in the community. The areas covered are Saltley, Newtown, Washwood Heath, Aston, Edgbaston, Balsall Heath these are a few of the areas that we cover but we are City Wide.

We operate 5 days per week Monday—Friday 9.00am—5.oopm

We offer workshops with information on states associated with the aging process such as Stroke, Cancer Diabetes and Dementia.  We provide hot meals that are Culturally sensitive to meet individual needs, local trips and Birthday celebrations. We will try to support carers by offering a flexible service and transport to take users to and from the centre. Also for those who are unable to attend we would provide a meal if needed.

The Harmony day care centre was established in 1999, with key principles of providing care, advice, information and support to the African Caribbean Community including those requiring assistance due to ill health.

TARGET GROUP

The intended target group is older people with mild dementia, those suffering from mental ill health Physical disability and others suffering multiple illness as a result of the ageing process.

The service on offer is African Caribbean centered but not exclusive, it will be available to all who wish to access the service.

The elderly users who are presently using the services are those suffering mental ill health, such as Stroke, Heart Attacks, hearing and sight impairment, some users suffer more than one of these complaints; therefore their dependency might be multifaceted.

Many of our service users draw from their extended family as part of their overall care packages, therefore Staff and Management Committee Members regard contact with carers as a vital part of their work
