Harborne Day Centre is a BCC Day Service for adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs including Autism, Epilepsy, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities, mental illness and high vulnerability. We offer support to adults aged 18 and over who have been identified as eligible to receive a service under the FACS (Fair Access to Services) criteria and have had a social care assessment that demonstrates support from the day service. 

All services and activities adopt a person-centered approach on the individual's own needs and interest. Some examples of key areas and support are listed below:

• Personal development — Development in daily living skills/communication / Access to community opportunities.
• Recreation and Leisure– Access to community facilities /support with personal hobbies and interests
• Socialisation– Support to meet with friends and access advocacy
• Personal support—personal care /medication support

We aim to provide people with opportunities to develop practical skills and pursue a range of interests. 

We are wheelchair accessible and have fully accessible toilets /hoists facilities by fully trained staff.

• Staff are qualified and trained, some are multi-linguistic & good interpreters.
• Yearly reviews for each individual are carried out with a Person- Centred Planning approach with trained staff.
• Prior to lockdown, we had an active Carers’ Group.

Eligibility Criteria

Referral is through a social worker‘s assessment who will look at your needs and decide whether you are eligible for the service.

The cost of your support package will vary according to what your needs are.

Visit— a visit would be planned followed by a set of taster days.
