  • A free befriending service run by Age Concern offered to anyone over 50 that has little social contact, housebound, those who may have lost confidence to make contact and attend social groups or have become isolated and/or lonely.

What can be offered:

       •      One to one contact over 10 sessions, and together develop a path to encourage the individual out of their house and back into the community through supporting them to attend social groups.

       •      Volunteers can visit, telephone or accompany individuals to activities to provide encouragement, increase self-confidence and improve general wellbeing.

       •      For those that are unable to leave their house, Age Concern will try and match them to a volunteer, who will either visit face to face or speak to them on the telephone.

The type of service that can be offered will depend on the area you live in. Please call 0121 362 3650 for further information
