Deaf World is a UK-registered charity established in January 2009, dedicated to empowering deaf and hard of hearing young people aged 11 to 25 in the West Midlands. By offering programs in education, training, leisure, social, and cultural activities, Deaf World enables individuals to access opportunities. Projects include the 1st Gear project, providing driving lessons with qualified instructors and British Sign Language interpreters; outdoor activity residentials in locations like the Peak District, Anglesey, and Paris; and the Deaf Zone Youth Club, a safe space for socialization and skill development. Through partnerships with young people, parents, schools, colleges, and local services, Deaf World facilitates a smooth transition into adulthood for its beneficiaries. The organization operates from the Summerfield Community Centre in Birmingham.
