The Friends of Balaams Wood LNR

Friends of Balaam’s Wood LNR is a volunteer group caring for Balaam’s Wood, an ancient woodland in Frankley, while promoting wellbeing through nature-based activities. The group helps maintain around 6.5 acres of oak woodland and grassland, with the River Rea running through the reserve.

A range of regular sessions are open to everyone:

Woodland Workout – Mondays, 10:30am–12:30pm. Hands-on conservation work (meet by the Balaam’s Wood sign on New Street—please contact beforehand).
Nordic Walking – Thursdays, 11:00am–12:00pm near Frankley Health Centre (poles provided).
Get Social Café – Last Friday of each month, 10:30am–12:30pm at 4 Arden Road, B45 0JA.
Craft & Share – Second Saturday, 11:00am–1:00pm at 4 Arden Road (materials included).
Tai Chi – Fridays, 2:00pm–3:00pm at 4 Arden Road, with refreshments until 4:00pm.

All activities support community connection, health, and the natural environment.
