The Friends of Balaams Wood LNR

Friends of Balaam’s Wood LNR is a volunteer group dedicated to protecting Balaam’s Wood, an ancient woodland in Frankley, and supporting local wellbeing through nature-focused activities.

Weekly & Monthly Activities

  • Woodland Workout: Mondays, 10:30am–12:30pm. Hands-on conservation work. Meet by the Balaam’s Wood sign on New Street (please contact beforehand).

  • Nordic Walking: Thursdays, 11:00am–12:00pm near Frankley Health Centre. Poles provided for beginners.

  • Get Social Café: Last Friday of each month, 10:30am–12:30pm at 4 Arden Road, B45 0JA. Enjoy refreshments and community news.

  • Craft & Share: Second Saturday, 11:00am–1:00pm at 4 Arden Road. All materials included.

  • Tai Chi: Fridays, 2:00pm–3:00pm at 4 Arden Road, with refreshments and chat until 4:00pm. Free, gentle session for relaxation and wellbeing.

All sessions are open to everyone and aim to support community connection, health, and the natural environment.
