Prevention and Communities Grants Programme

Gardener and Handyperson Service – A free service for over-50s in the Northfield constituency, accessed via referral to the Futureproof Project. Citizens receive a follow-up call or home visit to assess needs, and a convenient date is arranged to complete works at their home. Runs Mon–Fri in the community.

Warm Home Check & Trusted Assessor OT Assessment – Free services via Futureproof. The Warm Home Check inspects draughts, doors/windows, boiler settings, and adds radiator foils to keep homes warm. Trusted Assessor Occupational Therapy staff visit to suggest minor adaptations for mobility; larger issues are referred to Birmingham City Council. Runs Mon–Fri for over-50s in Northfield.

Home Visits / Support Sessions / Drop-Ins – Free support for over-50s via referral. Citizens can receive guidance on finances, housing, befriending, local groups, form filling, food parcels, fuel vouchers, and other relevant services. Services run Mon–Fri, with appointments prioritised by assessed need.
