Apna Ghar Day Care
#Prevention and Communities Grants Programme
Apna Ghar (which means our home) provides day care to the elderly, disabled and vulnerable people predominantly from south Asian countries. The centre is multi faith and there is no discrimination on racial, cultural, gender or religious grounds. People with no religious beliefs are also welcomed.
We provide the following services...
A multi-faith centre which promotes health and wellbeing, alleviates loneliness and reducing social isolation. We encouraging users with disabilities to take part in sitting exercises and Yoga. All activities will take place at the centre. This will be ongoing.
We encourage able bodied people to take part in walking and keep-fit exercises. We also play games and host dancing. All users get involved in singing, chatting remembering the good old days etc. This is aimed at promoting independence. Groups will visit restaurants for meals and attend parks. Actvities can be hosted both indoors and outdoors.
We also support citizens with a meal delivery service, collecting prescriptions, shopping, advisory services, assisting families to provide care at home. We also assist with funeral arrangements following the death of a user or family member. We celebrate different religious festivals and encourage people of all faiths to attend. This will encourage people of different faiths to integrate with each other and avoid discrimination.
