The Newman Community Centre (formerly the Carpenter's Arms) is owned and managed as a not-for profit community centre by the Catholic parish of St Nicholas, Boldmere .

It provides a valued service to the local community, hosting a wide range of community and private events.

It comprises three meeting rooms which are available for hire: 

• a large main hall on the ground floor with capacity for up to 150 people
• a smaller hall, again on the ground floor, with capacity for 60 people
• an upper room, accessible only by a staircase, with a capacity for 20 people.
