Birmingham Community Matters

Birmingham Community Matters (BCM)
helps people to start, run and grow small community and voluntary groups in Birmingham.

Our peer learning network brings you together with people who have lots of experience, so you can ask questions and share ideas.

Get in touch to chat to our volunteer BCM helpers about useful topics such as:

  • Getting started - turning interest into action, choosing a suitable structure for your group, finding people who share your interests or causes
  • Developing and growing your organisation - registering as a charity (if applicable), recruiting volunteers, promoting your group
  • Funding applications - identifying the need for your project, planning activities to meet those needs, costing projects, identifying suitable funders
  • Running your group - establishing policies and procedures, managing finances.
This isn't an exhaustive list. Whatever your ideas and challenges, we aim to match you with an experienced BCM helper who can help - or signpost you to the right support.

So whether you’re running a group, starting a project, or developing a good idea for your community, we would love to hear from you. Email us at info@birminghamcommunitymatters.org.uk and visit our website www.birminghamcommunitymatters.org.uk

Thanks to the generous support of our funders, including the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund and our volunteers, our service costs nothing for you to access.
Birmingham Community Matters is a charity registered in England and Wales (1179442).
