Care for Carers
Our group has around 12 attendees each week and is open to all ages in caring roles and is very popular.
Carers often feel the challenges of having very little support due to their roles, financial pressure and lack of time for themselves.
They meet at Perry Common Community Hall, once a week for 2 hours (Thursdays 11-1pm).
We deliver sessions that promote conversations to build confidence and relieve stress. We offer hand and shoulder massages. The project also offers mindfulness sessions through Project Calm. These are run by a qualified person who supports the carers by building self-esteem and gives tools to deal with stress and anxiety.
Members feel supported and are offered the opportunity to participate in other Witton Lodge Community activities such as a citizens panel and 'Lets get together'. Individuals have formed friendships and meet outside of the group. The activity is free of charge.
