Young Carers

Being a Young Carer can sometimes feel overwhelming. You’re juggling school, friendships, and responsibilities at home that most people your age don’t have. Birmingham Carers Hub is here to help you manage it all, making sure you have the support, time, and space to enjoy your life while caring for someone close to you, with their Young Carers Service.

Birmingham Carers Hub understands that caring for someone can sometimes feel like a lot to handle. That’s why they’re here to help you find balance and make time for yourself. Their service offers:

  • Group Support: Meet other Young Carers, share what you’re going through, and make friends with people who really understand.
  • Emotional Well-Being Activities: Take part in activities that help you relax, de-stress, and feel good about yourself.
  • Fun Breaks and Activities: Get away from your responsibilities with fun day trips, workshops, and activities just for you!

They’re here to make sure that if you’re under 18 and looking after someone at home, you get the support you need. Whether you’re helping care for a family member with physical or mental health issues, disabilities, or other challenges, this service is all about helping you manage school, life, and caring.

  • Personalised Support they’ll work with you to make sure you get the right support to help you in your caring role. That might mean help with school, or just someone to talk to when things feel tough.
  • Working with Your School: they’ll work with your teachers to help them understand what you’re dealing with at home and make sure you’re getting the right support.
  • Involving Your Family: they don’t just support you—they work with your family too, helping everyone get the help they need so that you don’t have to do everything on your own. Click on this link Young Carers - Birmingham Carers Hub to find out more.
